Company Profile

International law firm with a large presence in Hong Kong.

Challenge

Lawyers are often in reactive mode; dealing with the latest urgent email, phone call, or request from demanding clients. They are often too busy to take time out of their day to attend a training session.

Solution

Organising Solutions delivered a pilot program of Fast and Focused with Microsoft Outlook ® to a core group of senior partners and management within the firm. The course introduced strategies for lawyers to work more effectively in their email, in time planning, and in their task management.

Highlights

  • Course was structured as two 2-hour sessions over lunch in order to accommodate lawyers’ busy schedules
  • One day between classes allowed participants to practice what they learned in the first session and come to the second session with feedback, questions and observations.

Results

Within one week of completing the pilot course, an internal request was made to run an additional course for another group. The same course format was subsequently rolled out to all lawyers in Hong Kong, with plans to conduct virtual sessions for lawyers and support staff in other Asian offices.

Testimonial

“Organising Solutions ran ‘Fast and Focused with Microsoft Outlook’ for some of our senior partners, associates and business services managers. The time taken by Organising Solutions, before the course, to understand our own email system and discuss the correct focus and structure for the training helped make this an extremely well received course. The benefits were real, practical and immediate.”

“Brilliant – You taught us in 2 minutes what David Allen took 3 chapters to say! I think this course should go on general rollout.”
